Gabe Knowles, originally from the Lehigh Valley area, recently graduated from Howard University with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in African American Studies. During his time at Howard, he played on the Men’s Varsity Tennis Team and served as the captain in his senior year. While playing for Howard, he was awarded ITA All-American Academic Team 3x, MEAC All-Academic Team 4x, and MEAC Semifinalist.
While in college, Gabe was already coaching and participating in grassroots programs where he taught kids in schools about mental and nutritional health. He also ran group clinics for children in the surrounding areas. Additionally, Gabe has coached at multiple NJTL programs in New York City, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and Orlando.
Gabe’s coaching career started in 2017 at Northwood Racquet and Fitness club in Easton, PA. There he taught from red ball all the way to high performance college commits.
Throughout his college and coaching career, Gabe has experienced the ups and downs of junior and college tennis, along with the mental and physical training needed to succeed at all levels. Gabe believes in hard work and discipline, but on a stable level. He believes balance is key to a successful career, not only for tennis, but life as a whole.
