On August 1, during the closing ceremonies of LEGACY’s Community Tennis Summer Camp, Regional Manager Charles Newsome was awarded the first-ever Jonathan Rosado Humanitarian Award. This award, named in memory of Jonathan Rosado, a cherished LEGACY coach who passed away in 2015, recognizes individuals who exemplify dedication and service to the community. Rosado was a beloved figure in both the Hunting Park and McClure Elementary communities.
Newsome, a cornerstone of LEGACY’s summer programs for nearly three decades, has spent 28 years making a lasting impact on the lives of local youth. Now serving as a regional supervisor, he oversees dozens of campers and plays an essential role in a program that reaches hundreds of children throughout Philadelphia. His commitment to community service and youth development embodies the spirit of the award, which celebrates those who, like Rosado, make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
