On Wednesday, August 28, 24 parents and campers from LEGACY’s Center-based camp and Community Tennis Summer Camp traveled to New York City for an unforgettable day at the US Open. The group not only watched thrilling second-round matches but also had the rare opportunity to step onto the court before the action began.
Thanks to a partnership with the USTA Foundation and Net Generation, LEGACY players participated in an on-court demonstration, showcasing their tennis skills just 20 minutes before a scheduled match. Adding to the excitement, LEGACY camper Khai Ho was selected to perform the official coin toss for the match between Moyuka Uchijima and Jule Niemeier.
Following their on-court moment, the group explored the US Open grounds, soaking in the excitement of second-round men’s and women’s matches. To top it off, one lucky player even snagged an autograph from world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz.
LEGACY is deeply grateful to the USTA Foundation and Net Generation for providing this incredible experience, which gave young players an up-close look at top-tier tennis while creating lasting memories.
