On August 14, LEGACY held its highly anticipated 2024 Calcutta Doubles Invitational Fundraiser, an event that combined competitive tennis, good food, and a lively atmosphere under the perfect summer evening skies. Players of all skill levels were paired up and competed in a round-robin tournament, with the action culminating in a final match on Stadium Court.
One of the event’s highlights was the Calcutta auction, where spectators and players placed bids on their favorite teams for a chance to win a share of the prize money. The competition was fierce, yet filled with camaraderie, as athletes from across skill levels took to the courts.
The tournament finale saw Noah Cutting and Fred Perrin square off against Anna Mamalat and Pino He in an intense showdown. After a closely contested match, Cutting and Perrin emerged victorious, claiming both the title and the prize money. The framed winning certificates were made by LEGACY’s munchkin campers!
Beyond the fun and competition, the event raised thousands of dollars through entry fees and auction bids, all in support of LEGACY’s low- and no-cost programs that provide vital opportunities for kids in the community. The success of the fundraiser is a testament to the generosity and passion of the LEGACY family.
