On August 22, around 35 of LEGACY’s center summer campers took a memorable trip to the US Open Qualifiers, giving players and coaches a firsthand look at world-class tennis. In the final weeks of camp, everyone piled onto a coach bus and headed to Flushing Meadows, where they had the chance to witness top-tier players compete and prepare for the tournament, including LEGACY alumna Ann Li.
Li, competing on Court 7, faced Lea Boskovic in front of a cheering section made up of LEGACY kids and coaches. By the end, Li secured the win, advancing to the main draw of the US Open. For the young LEGACY players, watching one of their own achieve success on such a grand stage was a highlight of the day.
As they explored the grounds, the group also caught glimpses of tennis superstars like Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev during their practice sessions, providing an up-close experience of the sport’s biggest names preparing for competition.
The trip was not only a fun outing but also an invaluable opportunity for the LEGACY players to witness high-level tennis and see that success is within reach. LEGACY is proud to offer these unique experiences to its young athletes, showing them that with dedication and hard work, they too can chase their dreams.
