This past week, Ann Li, a LEGACY alum and native of King of Prussia won the first WTA 125 title of her career on Sunday with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over No.1 seed Viktoriya Tomova in the BBVA Open Internacional de Valencia final. Ann came into the tournament unseeded and strung together multiple impressive wins over top seeded players like Martina Trevisan and Jessica Bouzas Maneiro to make it to the final.
Ann played at LEGACY for a number of years and worked with now USTA National Coach Jon Glover as well as many other LEGACY coaches. Li then played at the USTA National Campus in New York before becoming a full time professional player. Since turning pro Ann has won other WTA events, most notably a WTA 500 title in 2021. We are so proud of Ann and what she has been able to accomplishment on the court but also what she has done off the court. Before the tournament, Ann helped coach some kids in Valencia during the BBVA Open Internacional de Valencia clinic!
“This one means a lot. Thanks to everyone that supported me and believed in me always, especially through the tough past couple years. Just trying to get better each day and enjoy the process.” said Ann on Instagram following her win. Congrats Ann!
